Our name Seagrass honours the quiet strength of the seagrass meadows at South Sands and the vibrant marine life that surrounds us. Just like the coast we call home, we are shaped by the tides, the seasons and a deep respect for the natural world. We’re more than a restaurant in Salcombe with a view, we’re at one with our coastal surroundings.

Quality food in quality surroundings

This is a lovely place to eat. It's not just about the view, which is wonderful because the hotel is on the beach side of the road, looking directly out onto the sea, and if you sit outside you get pretty much the full seaside experience. The restaurant itself has a warm and homely feel, managing to combine casual and posh at the same time, probably because it allows dogs (who are all really well behaved) and because the food is of such high quality. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, the specials are excellent - it is always our first choice of places to go (despite not being cheap) whenever we visit the area. Definitely recommended!

Very good down to earth cuisine

I can't believe how excellent the down-to-earth cuisine is here. Although it was a few months ago that I visited, I still think about this wonderful lunch: a very special combination of mackerel with salad and sprouts. It was one of the best dishes, if not the best during my trip to England.

A wonderful location for views of South Sands and estuary at Salcombe.

The food arrived and was pleasantly surprised by our starter’s - Lobster & Crab Bisque, served with sourdough bread. My wife had calamari with spicy sauce.

Lovely place for an evening meal. The Seagrass Restaurant has a warm inviting atmosphere, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The service was great, the menu varied and reasonable priced. Immaculately clean and dog friendly. I would highly recommend
