65 Meursault ‘Saint Christophe’, Domaine de Montille 2022 Organic
(Burgundy, France)
(bottle) 155.00
Founded in the mid-18th century, this family-owned estate is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or, with ninth generation Etienne de Montille now at its helm. Etienne inherited this responsibility from his late father, Hubert, whose tenure lasted a staggering
50 years. While 90% of the region’s production was sold to négociants, Hubert gained fame for his estate-bottled, long-lived and characterful wines. This generous Meursault is yellow in colour with golden hues. There is a superb freshness on the nose, with intense
aromas of white flowers, yellow peach, nectarine, lemon and subtle hints of toast. The concentrated flavours carry through onto the palate, with voluptuous and creamy notes
of peach and nectarine, a lively acidity and a rich texture, that round off into a long and persistent finish. -
62 Puligny-Montrachet, François Carillon (Côtes d’Or, Burgundy, France)

Pale pink with a delicate nose, revealing floral aromas with touches of red fruits & pear drops.
-
94 Tavel Rosé, ‘Moon Apoge’
(bottle) 42.00
A biodynamic wine from a family estate of 50 hectares, this is 50% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 15% Clairette and 15% Syrah. Vines are over 50 years old, and a macertation of 36 hours has produced a typically dark, Negroni-coloured wine with cherry and vine fruit aromas, a little bit of creaminess and a touch of earthy character. In the mouth it is weighty and dry, much more savoury, lemony and with a little tannin structure than a Provence rosé for example. Don’t chill this too much, and treat it as a food, rather than a sipping-wine.
-
95 Château Beaulieu`Cuvée Alexandre` Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rosé
(bottle) 48.00
The Cuvée Alexandre is a delicious and modestly priced Provence rosé from Château Beaulieu, located in Rognes in Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence. The estate comprises 300 hectares of vines which lie at an altitude of 400 metres, in the heart of an ancient volcanic crater. The vineyard land has been farmed in the area since Roman times, although the Château itself was built as a stronghold for the French King Henry III in 1576. Beautifully pale pink in colour. The nose displays delicate aromas of white flowers, citrus, juicy white peach and pear notes. On the palate, a zesty and fresh acidity combines beautifully with a distinctive citrus character, which provides an
elegant mouthfeel and refreshing length. -
